Getting Started
Welcome to Speakaholic! Follow this guide to upload a document, pick a voice, and generate studio‑quality audio in minutes.
How to convert a document to audio
Simple steps you can follow right now. No developer knowledge required.
What you need
- Supported file types: PDF, DOCX, TXT
- Recommended size: ≤ 5 MB per file
- An account with available credits
Step 1 — Prepare your document
Ensure the document contains the final text you want narrated. Remove unnecessary images and watermarks for best parsing accuracy.
Step 2 — Upload
- Click Upload a Document above.
- Select your file. We extract the text and ready it for TTS.
- When the upload is complete, move on to voice selection.
Step 3 — Choose a voice
Open the voice selector to try different options. You can preview and fine‑tune:
- Speed: slower or faster delivery
- Pitch: subtle adjustments to tone
- Style: when available (e.g., cheerful)
Step 4 — Generate & download
Generate the final audio and download the MP3. You can also keep it in your dashboard to access later.
Best practices
- Break large documents into sections (by chapter/heading).
- Use clear headings and paragraphs for better narration.
- Prefer plain text or well‑structured PDFs for accuracy.
Understanding credits
- Credits are consumed roughly by word count.
- Previewing voices is free; generation uses credits.
- Buy credits any time — they don’t expire.
Troubleshooting
- Upload failed: Try a smaller file or export as a clean PDF.
- Audio sounds clipped: Pick another voice or slow the speed slightly.
- Long documents: Split into sections; very long inputs work best with batch processing.
